This past semester of Spring 2010, three multimedia students interned with New Paradise Laboratories (NPL), the Obie award-winning Philadelphia theatrical think-tank, during NPL’s UArts residency. The fruit of NPL’s residency was Mort, a performance piece about the end. An experimental work conceived and directed by Whit MacLaughlin with Mary McCool, “Mort” took the form of three distinct performances with different storylines at three times of day with one ticket. JOHN WALLER, a 2010 Multimedia alumnus, provided sound for the production, TOM GIGLIOTTI, also a 2010 Multimedia alumnus, created the web trailer and lobby projections, and KERRY GILBERT, a Multimedia Junior, created the show’s website.
